Day 01 : Arrival at Guwahati – Transfer to Shillong (100 km / 3 hrs)

Arrival at Guwahati Airport.

Visit Umiam Lake (Barapani) en route – a serene and scenic lake perfect for a short break.

Reach Shillong, check-in at hotel.

Evening stroll at Police Bazaar – local market for shopping and street food.

Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 02 : Shillong – Cherrapunji Sightseeing (55 km / 2 hrs)
Early breakfast, then drive to Cherrapunji – known for being one of the wettest places on Earth.
Visit:
  • Elephant Falls
  • Mawsmai Cave
  • Nohkalikai Falls – India’s tallest plunge waterfall
  • Seven Sisters Falls
  • Eco Park

Optional: Light trekking and cave exploration

Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.

Day 03 : Cherrapunji – Nongriat Trek – Back to Cherrapunji

Early morning trek to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge in Nongriat (requires good physical fitness; approx. 3500 steps one way).

Visit nearby Rainbow Falls (optional, if time and energy permit).

Return to Cherrapunji by evening.

Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.

Day 04 : Cherrapunji – Dawki – Mawlynnong – Shillong

After breakfast, proceed to :

  • India-Bangladesh border point at Dawki.
  • Dawki – boat ride on the crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River.
  • Visit Mawlynnong – Asia’s cleanest village.
  • Walk on the Single Living Root Bridge in Riwai.

Return to Shillong in the evening.

Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 05 : Shillong – Guwahati Departure

Breakfast and check-out.

Optionally visit :

  • Don Bosco Museum
  • Shillong Peak
  • Laitlum Canyons (if time allows)

Drive back to Guwahati (3 hrs)

Drop at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station for departure.

Kindly Note: Best time to avail tour in this region is from October to May. From June to September, due to heavy rain, maximum destinations are not suitable to visit.

Note that Star category hotels are generally available mainly in Guwahati, Shillong. The remaining destinations, mainly remote ones, mostly have basic accommodations but neat and clean.

For a comfort long distance journey, guests are requested to avail transportation by SUV/MUV cars such as Toyota Innova, Mahindra Scorpio, Maruti Ertiga etc.

Changing foreign currencies are no problem in Guwahati, Shillong or in some big towns. But maximum destinations do not have this facility so carry a number of Indian cash with you.
